About The Position
POLITICO is seeking exceptional college students and recent graduates for its Spring 2027 reporting in Tallahassee. This role involves covering legislation, lawmakers, the governor, state agencies, and Florida politics. The intern will play a critical role in story creation and production, including research, reporting, writing, and aggregating content, particularly for newsletters. The position offers a chance to contribute to a dynamic team covering policy and politics for both in-state and national audiences, providing a behind-the-scenes view of how news is made.
Requirements
- A passion for politics/policy and a thirst to learn about Florida politics and government
- Strong foundational reporting and writing skills
- Excellent news judgment
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently under deadlines
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Proven experience in a newsroom
- At least one professional news media internship or job preferred
