About The Position

The Reports, Automation, & Dashboard Sr Consultant II will be responsible for the accurate, consistent, and timely reporting of enterprise financial and operational reporting solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. This role focuses on delivering accurate, consistent, and timely insights by implementing scalable data models, governed semantic layers, and automated reporting solutions that ensure a single, trusted version of the truth across the organization. The consultant partners closely with business stakeholders, data engineering, and analytics teams to translate complex business requirements into performant, reusable, and well-governed reporting assets spanning Lakehouse, semantic models, and Power BI dashboards.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, reporting, or analytics roles (preferred)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including report design, DAX, semantic modeling, and performance optimization
  • Experience working with modern data platforms, preferably Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or similar Lakehouse / data warehouse technologies
  • Solid understanding of data modeling concepts, including star schemas, fact/dimension design, and reusable metrics
  • Experience supporting financial and/or operational reporting in a large, enterprise environment
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and stakeholder relationships

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building or consuming Bronze/Silver/Gold (medallion) data models
  • Familiarity with data governance concepts, including data quality, lineage, and semantic layer ownership
  • Experience automating reporting workflows using Fabric pipelines, notebooks, or Power BI deployment tools
  • Prior experience migrating reports from legacy platforms (e.g., Tableau, SSRS, Excel-based reporting) to Power BI
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain high-complexity Power BI dashboards and reports backed by governed semantic models and curated data sources
  • Develop and manage end-to-end reporting solutions using Microsoft Fabric components, including Lakehouse (Bronze/Silver/Gold), notebooks, pipelines, and semantic models
  • Independently design and implement financial and operational reporting logic that centralizes metrics, KPIs, and calculations for enterprise reuse
  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data and reporting designs that prioritize usability, performance, and governance
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with data engineering, platform, and analytics teams to design, build, test, and deploy recurring reports and dashboards
  • Ensure report integrity and consistency by applying data modeling best practices, validation techniques, and post-implementation user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Drive automation and standardization efforts that reduce manual reporting, improve refresh reliability, and streamline analyst workflows
  • Apply strong data visualization and storytelling principles to surface insights, highlight trends, and support data-driven decision-making
  • Support and mentor junior consultants through knowledge sharing, design reviews, and cross-training on Power BI and Fabric best practices
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on reporting architecture, performance optimization, and enterprise BI standards
