About The Position

Adams MultiMedia Wisconsin is seeking a full-time Reporter for the Sawyer County Review in Hayward, WI. This is a full-time, in-house position where the reporter will cover a variety of topics including serious news, light features, and personal profiles for the weekly newspaper. The ideal candidate is a smart individual with some knowledge of government who is eager to learn and possesses strong interpersonal skills, enjoying working with people. While the role primarily involves weekday work, occasional evening or weekend assignments are part of the job. This position offers the opportunity to interact with diverse individuals, witness unique events, and enjoy the natural beauty of the Wisconsin Northwoods.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask.
  • Must have own transportation.
  • Ability to write and to provide clean copy.
  • Ability to take photos and video.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to accept instruction and editing suggestions from editors.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with the public.
  • Perform job duties and conduct self in accordance with company core values.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is helpful.
  • Ability to use Facebook and Twitter and other social media preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Some reporting/editing experience preferred.
  • Some knowledge of government.
  • Ability to be trained to do this job.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and client orientation.
  • Exhibit an ability to work effectively with internal and external contacts as a team member as well as a team leader.
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field strongly preferred.
