About The Position
The Waco Tribune-Herald has an immediate opening for an energetic full-time reporter to cover general news, breaking news and public safety in Waco, Texas. This is a full-time reporting position in our newsroom. Our reporters cover multiple beats, prioritized by the managing editor week to week.
Requirements
- Curious, with a strong work ethic and a passion to inform
- Detail-oriented, with good spelling, typing and grammar skills
- Minimal travel outside the immediate coverage area
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field required
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a newsroom/newspaper environment preferred
- Minimal video editing skills helpful
Responsibilities
- Write news stories based on assigned beats
- Interview sources
- Compile short videos to use with stories
- Write on deadline each day
