About The Position

CBS Newspath is seeking an MMJ/Reporter to join their news team. The role requires a self-motivated, curious storyteller with a passion for shooting, writing, and editing national stories of interest, including consumer and health topics. The position involves pitching daily story ideas, gathering news for TV and digital platforms, and working with producers and news managers on story development, research, investigation, writing, production, and presentation. The reporter will present accurate, journalistically sound, fair, and balanced news stories. A key part of the role includes reporting live during affiliate newscasts nationwide, including breaking news situations. The position also requires shooting, editing, coordinating, managing, conducting, and video recording interviews, as well as building contacts for impactful original stories. Flexibility in scheduling and assigned work shifts is also necessary.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience as an MSJ/ Television Reporter Experience
Proven interview skills
A valid driver’s license
Minimum 5 years' experience writing, producing and desktop editing

Responsibilities

Pitch daily story ideas, gather news and information for various platforms including TV and digital
Work with producers and news managers on developing, researching, investigating, writing, producing, and presenting stories as needed for both TV and digital platforms
Present completed news stories that are accurate, journalistically sound, fair and balanced
Report live during affiliate newscasts in cities around the country, including breaking news as needed
Shoot, edit, coordinate, manage, conduct, and video record interviews
Build contacts for developing impactful original stories
