About The Position

An experienced reporter is needed for Pittsburgh's radio news leader. Candidates must possess a strong writing style, captivating delivery, and the ability to work with an award-winning news team. Responsibilities include street reporting, newscast anchoring, delivering on-air traffic reports, conducting interviews, covering news stories, and operating audio equipment. Candidates must possess strong social media acumen. Hours include weekdays and occasional weekends. A college education is preferred. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years anchoring or reporting news for broadcast media.
  • Must be computer literate and have excellent writing skills.
  • Proficiency in editing and packaging news sound and interviews.
  • Contemporary sound and excellent on-air delivery.
  • Knowledge of the broadcast area and station demographics is essential.
  • Employees of Audacy are required to be a minimum of 21 years of age to operate any vehicle, including Company-owned, leased, rented, or personal vehicles, when such operation is conducted on behalf of Audacy.
  • Driving is an essential function of this role.
  • A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of the applicant's own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.

  • 4 year degree in journalism is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and record news segments.
  • Gather, write, record, edit and deliver news content inclusive of providing live coverage when breaking news occurs.
  • Interview news makers.
  • Write scripts and ad-libbing material for stories.
  • Update and utilize station social media platforms.
  • Develop and research potential news stories.
  • Anchor multi-hour news shifts on a news-talk station.
  • Deliver traffic reports for multiple stations.
  • Protecting the station’s FCC license.
  • Make station appearances as required.
  • Other duties as required by management.
