About The Position

The Star Democrat (Easton, Maryland) is looking for a general assignment reporter. You will work with editors and reporters who are committed to producing a great newspaper and championing good writing that helps our readers better understand the complex world in which we live. The position is a critical part of the Star Democrat newsroom. We want someone who can go beyond meetings to find stories the community needs to know. The newspaper is produced six days a week – four days in print and two days as e-editions. Stories often appear online before they run in print. The Star Democrat is located in Easton, Maryland, on the beautiful Eastern Shore. The newspaper covers stories in a five-county region. Easton is about an hour from Baltimore and 90 minutes from Washington, D.C. Amenities include close proximity to the Chesapeake Bay and its many water sports and activities. There is a vibrant arts and entertainment scene. If you love good food, the hundreds of wonderful restaurants on the Eastern Shore are a big draw. Requirements

Must have a driver’s license with a clean driving record and a reliable vehicle.
Experience in newsrooms.
