About The Position

CBC Saskatchewan is hiring a reporter-editor for our new bureau in North Battleford. This role is crucial for connecting and amplifying Indigenous content to audiences in Saskatchewan and across Canada, as North Battleford is a vital link in the social, cultural and political infrastructure of north-central Saskatchewan and the base for the Battlefords Agency Tribal Chiefs, representing seven Treaty 6 First Nations, and within the Métis Nation homeland. The reporter-editor will cover hyper-local stories, federal announcements, and contribute to broadcast and digital platforms live, ensuring voices from the region are reflected across digital, radio, social, streaming, and TV. The role requires operating independently, with support from colleagues across CBC Saskatchewan and provincewide bureaus, and access to ongoing training opportunities. North Battleford offers affordable housing, short commutes, and easy access to year-round activities, making it an ideal location for those prioritizing quality of life.
