About The Position

The Replenishment Lead role is part of the Replenishment Buying organization and is stationed at the Market level. This position runs supporting operations for Replenishment activities within a market, owning logistics, sales, and costing coordination for product orders. The Replenishment Lead acts as the face of Replenishment in the market and works with the VP Sales and VP Operations to ensure any immediate need for a product is met. This role ensures the Replenishment function at the Market delivers on commitments, including maintaining continuity of product supply, while meeting key performance service indicators (KPI). The position connects the market to the Replenishment Service Center (RSC) through constant communication, update calls, and collaboration with the RSC on demand changes and special projects. The Replenishment Lead monitors the quality of inbound products and executes replenishment functions according to US Foods policies and procedures, providing subject matter expertise on supply chain systems, replenishment policies, and procedures. Additionally, this role manages Replenishment Assistants who support Replenishment operations in the market. This role is onsite 5 days a week (Monday-Friday) in Seabrook, NH.

Requirements

  • 5 years of purchasing work experience required.
  • Proven experience of influencing people / management.
  • Extensive food service knowledge and supply chain experience.
  • Proficient with various Desktop software (e.g., Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally and draw linkages to business.
  • High attention to detail, strong customer orientation, and fact-based decision making.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or supply chain management, or equivalent food service industry work experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Daily replenishment duties and KPI monitoring, including working with Area Buyers and Replenishment Assistants to ensure key Replenishment functions are fulfilled.
  • Monitor inbound product for quality levels and investigate any product concerns or product returned from customers due to quality concerns.
  • Manage and execute the removal of slow, dead, excess, and obsolete inventory at the direction of Category Management.
  • Assist and follow up on inventory management concerns including spoilage, alert date product, and suspense inventory with Category Management.
  • Manage the Credit Debit Memo Request process and drop ship billings through the Replenishment Assistant.
  • Track key service performance indicators for a Market, including Customer Service Level, Inventory Loss Minimization, Days Inventory on Hand (DIOH), Customer Order Fill Rates, Excess and Obsolete Inventory Reserve, Managed Cases/Freight Income, Inbound Cases/Pallet, Slow and Dead Inventory, and Special Order Response Time.
  • Coordinate with market staff, drive process consistency, and build strong relationships with cross-functional partners overseeing the market.
  • Work directly with the VP Sales and VP Operations to ensure the market delivers on customer commitments, and at times, negotiate or influence them on alternative means to meet a customer commitment.
  • Ensure open communication between cross-functional partners and the Replenishment Assistant regarding business updates, Market initiatives, and demand change information.
  • Participate in regular market status calls to identify and remedy service issues, spoilage risks, etc.
  • Support the Area buying team with routine buying support tasks.
  • Own the reviews of certain reports (e.g., Unusual Demand, BIT, Inventory Rebalance Process, ICC/LCR pricing) and raise issues to buyers/leadership as necessary.
  • Perform logistics and costing tasks, including accepting PO blueprints, managing monthly freight rates, checking Arrowstream non-compliant orders, and investigating/resolving costing issues.
  • Provide buying coverage by filling in buying gaps and covering for temporarily unavailable buyer bandwidth.
  • Manage a team of Replenishment Assistants and drive continuous improvement within the team.
  • Assume SME role in supply chain processes and market intelligence to help incorporate local market intelligence to improve efficiency and service.
  • Share current challenges, operational learnings, and opportunities with the Area Replenishment staff to improve standard processes.
  • Ensure smooth coordination and information flow between Replenishment Assistants and Area Buyers.
  • Build a strong culture of customer service orientation, collaboration, performance, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Provide adequate coaching and process guidance to the team, and when needed, work closely with Area Replenishment leadership to develop required capabilities.
  • Provide regular 1x1 feedback to the team based on cross-functional inputs and individual performance.
