About The Position
Harbor Rail Services is hiring a Repairman to repair railcars and perform inspections. The work involves repairing all types of rail cars using hand tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment, and conducting inspections in accordance with AAR, FRA, railroad rules, company policies, and safety procedures. Safety is a priority, and employees are expected to follow rigorous safety standards. This is a full-time position at the Wilmington, California location. The work is outdoors and physically demanding, involving frequent walking, gripping, reaching, kneeling, bending, and stooping. The job is listed as a day-shift role but may require evening and/or weekend work. Following an offer, candidates must pass a drug screening and an eRailSafe background check to meet railroad-related U.S. Department of Homeland Security requirements. Requirements
- At least 1 year of mechanical experience.
- Valid driver license.
- Pass a post-offer drug screening and eRailSafe background check.
- Provide a Social Security number.
