About The Position

The Repairman 1 supports maintenance operations by performing mechanical, electrical, and structural repairs. Assists mechanics, electricians, and mobile technicians in maintaining plant machinery, equipment, and facilities to meet production needs in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 7–10 years of mechanical maintenance experience.
• Expert knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• High commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders, work from elevated platforms, and use hand tools (e.g., shovels, hammers, wrenches).

Nice To Haves

• Technical certifications, associate degree, or welding and machining certifications preferred.
• Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) knowledge preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency preferred.
• Warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex mechanical repairs, equipment overhauls, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Diagnose root causes of recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with engineering and maintenance planning teams.
• Provide technical expertise during plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and capital improvement projects.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to mechanics across multiple shifts.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
• Promote a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
