About The Position

Eagle Bend Manufacturing is seeking a Repair Welder to perform GMAW welding operations, ensuring the production of quality components and finished goods that meet or exceed customer requirements. This role involves maintaining quality and conformance to customer specifications using TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems, with the authority to stop non-conforming processes. The position requires performing GMAW welding on various components, basic setup and maintenance of welding equipment, and adherence to work instructions, including safety-critical welds. Responsibilities also include 100% visual inspection and packaging of products, repairing welded components, participating in continuous improvement activities, completing required documentation, and maintaining housekeeping standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic GMAW welder training provided by Eagle Bend Manufacturing
  • Participate in regular re-training as required by customer and/or Eagle Bend

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years manufacturing experience preferred
  • GMAW, GTAW, or SMAW welding experience preferred but not required
  • Basic machine operation experience helpful

Responsibilities

  • Perform GMAW welding operations which produce quality components or finished goods that meet or exceed customer requirements
  • Responsible for quality and conformance of product to customer specifications per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems; authority to stop non-conforming processes and report same to supervisor, Quality Assurance and/or Engineering department representative
  • Perform GMAW welding on components, sub-assemblies and finished goods
  • Perform basic set-up, maintenance and weld adjustments to GMAW welding equipment
  • Follow work instructions which identify customer-specific criteria, including safety-critical welds and minimum quality requirements
  • 100% visual inspection & packaging of product
  • Be able to repair welded components by grinding, reshaping, and/or re-welding
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities including suggestions which improve safety, quality and/or efficiency
  • Complete Inspection Data Sheets, production reports or other documents as required
  • Tagging and labeling per the work instructions
  • Housekeeping and other activities as assigned
