About The Position

The Repair Technician repairs, tests, troubleshoots, and inspects electronic and electro-mechanical equipment, devices, and other related equipment in accordance with proper company policies and procedures. In Product Identification, our Matthews Marking Systems and Evolution Inkjet brands are leading global providers of marking and coding solutions, including a full line of printing technologies, consumables, and software, to meet branding, traceability, and regulatory compliance needs for industrial and consumer products.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Engineering or related field
  • 4+ years of previous equipment repair experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
  • Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
  • Possess a mechanical aptitude; ability to use a large variety of hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torch.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs equipment including controllers, power supplies, print heads and ink systems; inspects and tests all products to maintaining a consistently high level of quality.
  • Adjusts and tunes products to provide optimum service and reliability according to established procedures and methods.
  • Suggests approaches to improve products, procedural changes, and/or new methods of control and/or testing.
  • Operates diagnostic equipment including oscilloscopes, pulsed generators, strobe lights, microscopes and other equipment.
  • Monitors and reports on inventory of working stock and related items necessary to maintain acceptable work flow. Maintains equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner; works within extremely close tolerances and part specifications.
  • Ensures that repair report is completed for every work order, maintains proper filing of reports at all times.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
