About The Position

In this position, you will perform surgical instrument inspection, repair, and refurbishment in a field-based setting. Technicians work out of mobile repair trucks at Customer sites and regional labs in more condensed markets. Technicians deliver superior Customer Experience by providing timely and quality repairs to meet compliance standards. This position may require occasional overnight travel. This role requires daily travel by driving a company vehicle. This is a safety sensitive position. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands on experience that may include repair, assembly, product testing, or use of small hand tools (or equivalent transferable experience). May include experience such as carpentry, sterile processing, industrial sewing, jewelry repair, maintenance, machining, tool and die, mechanical/ repair, construction, small engine repair, cell phone/ pc/ tablet repair, testing and rebuilds, circuit board assembly, fabrication, welding, or automotive repair. All experience must be verifiable.
  • Related certifications in technical or mechanical area, competitive equipment training or related military experience may be considered towards experience requirement
  • Must be able to lift up to 50-100 pounds at times and push instrument rolling carts ranging from 10-150 pounds at times
  • Must be able to meet flexible schedules with early/late hours, sometimes outside normal business hours, including nights and weekends, based on Customer needs
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years old with the ability to meet FMCSA/DOT and drivers license requirements
  • Must be able to pass a DOT medical/ physical exam, comply with all DOT regulations and conduct basic box truck safety checks
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. CDL required where applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous instrument repair experience is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic level repair and maintenance of surgical instruments, including ultra sonic, buff and polish, bending, shaping, sharpening, hinge points, serrations, and brazing.
  • Provide invoicing, work orders, and daily documentation in accordance with Customer reporting and contractual/regulatory requirements, including end-of-day reporting, such as the OAR.
  • Complete Preventative Maintenance Inspection (PMI), as needed, within training and capability level.
  • Adhere to DOT, company, and Customer protocols for the safe operation of the On Location repair truck, including vehicle and equipment safety procedures.
  • Abide by all Company safety and health policies, use personal protective equipment and complete safety observations per site requirements.
  • Provide support to various locations within assigned territory depending on the service agreements, Customer needs, and staffing levels.
