Repair Technician 2nd Shift
About The Position
Transco Railway Products, Inc. is seeking an Entry-Level Repair Technician to provide support by performing basic repairs on parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches. This role involves performing a variety of rail car repair related tasks in a TEAM environment, establishing good working relationships at all levels. The position is responsible for assisting more experienced welders with the entire sequence of cutting and welding operations for a wide variety of repair and fabrication work, including aligning and welding components of metal tools, wires, fixtures, and other metal products. A significant portion of this role is to learn the trade from more experienced coworkers.
Requirements
- Use a variety of tools and equipment such as pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, forklifts, and cranes.
- Read specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Knowledgeable or willing to learn how to perform air brake test.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds with proper body mechanics.
- Ability to work within a teamwork environment with regular and predictable attendance.
- Able to pass drug screen and physical.
