About The Position

As a Repair Specialist III at Jabil, Inc., you will be responsible for advanced diagnostics, repair, and refurbishment of complex electronic and mechanical assemblies, ensuring products meet stringent quality and performance standards. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and problem-solving skills to resolve intricate issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in complex electronic and/or mechanical repair, preferably within a manufacturing or high-tech environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in reading and interpreting schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in using a wide range of test and diagnostic equipment.
  • Advanced soldering skills (through-hole and surface mount technology) with a proven ability to work on fine-pitch components.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective documentation and collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and relevant repair tracking software.

Nice To Haves

  • IPC certification (e.g., IPC-7711/7721, J-STD-001) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of intricate electronic, electrical, and mechanical components and systems to the component level.
  • Utilize a variety of test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers) to identify root causes of failures.
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble complex products according to established procedures and schematics.
  • Conduct functional testing and quality checks to verify repair effectiveness and product performance.
  • Document all repair activities, including fault descriptions, repair steps taken, and parts used, accurately and thoroughly in the designated system.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to identify recurring issues and propose solutions for process or product improvements.
  • Train and mentor less experienced repair technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, quality standards, and company procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • May be required to perform rework and modifications as necessary.
