About The Position

Pratt & Whitney's GTF MRO Engineering Department in West Palm Beach is looking for a Repair Process & Methods Engineer (P2, ENG II) to provide support in repair process development, and manufacturing operations support functions as engines are inducted into, and progress through the shop. The person in this role will ensure a smooth Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) process, while working to meet external and internal customer expectations for quality, cost, and delivery timeline commitments.

Requirements

  • Advanced Degree and 1+ year of experience in Engineering, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Military or Aviation industry; OR Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate's degree and 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • University degree ideally in Engineering. Mechanical or Quality Engineering preferred
  • ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE) or equivalent.
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license, FAA repairmen’s certificate, or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of aerospace engine overhaul and repair processes
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (i.e., AS9100/AS9110 or ISO 9001) and audit process
  • Working knowledge of FAA Part 145, EASA, AS9110, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with Quality Notifications/Material Review Board Root Cause and Corrective Action experience (QCPC, RCCA Red-X, Fault Tree, etc.)
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage quality clinics or other projects effectively.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (CORE/ACE/SixSigma, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Pratt & Whitney shop practices & processes, quality standards, and inspections methods & tools
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs, SAP ERP, and Solumina MES
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management, shop personnel, external customers and regulatory agencies (i.e. DCMA, FAA, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Develop operational process plans per WPB MRO requirements in accordance with 14 CFR Part 145 using engine maintenance program (EMP), customer specific work scopes (SMI), “As-received” induction results, existing service bulletins and approved deviations.
  • Assist in producing and managing engine teardown plans along with repair and rebuild activities based on in-process conditions experienced.
  • Comply with all government regulations, regulatory requirements, company policies, repair station procedures and work instructions including Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and International Trade Compliance requirements.
  • Development and validation of optimized repair/disassembly/assembly procedures, tooling, facility equipment and software to improve TAT, reduce labor hours, and improve quality.
  • Identification, evaluation, and implementation of best practices from production, development, and other MRO sites as it pertains to assembly, disassembly, cleaning and repair of the engine.
  • Technical support and troubleshooting of manufacturing and automation equipment used at assembly.
