About The Position

A Repair Planner/Disassembly Technician works with the Body Shop Estimator and Body Shop Technicians by performing complete disassembly of vehicles to identify all damage, revise estimates, and develop accurate repair plans. This role is responsible for uncovering hidden damage, ensuring proper documentation. The environment is fast paced, the team is great to work with, and the work is high-quality. Defect-free repairs and exceptional customer satisfaction are a key part of the Lighthouse Collision Center. This position has a key leadership role within the Repair Plan Department.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in at least one major estimating platform (CCC ONE, Mitchell, or Audatex) - CCC strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge in OEM repair procedures and a willingness to follow manufacturer guidelines.
  • A positive attitude that shows in both customer service and contributions to the team.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 1-3 years of hands-on collision repair experience in a professional body shop or collision center.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the estimation process preferred but not required.
  • Leadership experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the company blueprinting process and complete disassembly procedures for all vehicle inspections.
  • Perform complete disassembly of vehicles after the initial estimate to identify all hidden or missed damage.
  • Revise preliminary estimates based on a complete teardown, ensuring 100% repair accuracy.
  • Inspect all vehicles for internal structure and part damage and communicate findings clearly to estimators.
  • Develop and present completed supplements in a timely manner.
  • Document and record all additional damage and required parts.
  • Lead and support disassembly technicians through training and daily direction.
  • Manage check-in and mirror match of EOR parts and ensure proper panel replacement.
  • Test fit new panels to verify proper fitment and identify full damage severity.
  • Ensure preliminary parts are checked in and mirror matched correctly.
  • Print and organize OEM procedures related to each repair.
  • Read and understand scheduled incoming work.
  • Assist other departments as needed.
