About The Position

The Repair Technician provides standard repairs and evaluation services according to local building codes and by the local health departments. They offer related services to customers in their homes and businesses, and sell accessory services, products, and service agreements. The role also involves performing inspections for real estate transactions and evaluations of problematic septic systems. The technician utilizes customer service training to educate and assist customers in choosing service, products, and finance options.

Requirements

• High school diploma, or equivalent is required.
• 1+ years of sewage pump, control panels is required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Ability to successfully pass DOT drug screen, medical certification, physical exam and road exams.
• Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
• Must be able to meet physical demands evaluation.
• Must comply with all FMCSA and DOT regulations.
• Must practice safe work methods to remain accident and injury free.
• Must have the ability to recognize hazards inherent in routine and non-routine tasks and make adjustments to avoid loss, injury or accident.
• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to your job.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience lift station preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and exercise safe work practice.
• Performs Pump Checkouts either above grade or by Confined Space Entry.
• Performs basic pipe, baffle, riser, lid replacements, with manual digging involved.
• Performs Site Evaluations to determine next steps for Repairs Division.
• Performs Open Pit Inspections for Real Estate transactions.
• Provides camera and snaking of lines for residential and commercial properties.
• Directs workers engaged in spreading crushed rock and gravel, in laying tile drainpipe, and in connecting drainpipes to branch sewers.
• May verify levels of rock or gravel, base, and tile drainpipe, using surveyor's or carpenter's level.
