About The Position

Dreisilker Electric Motors is looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our Repair Center team as a Repair Center Laborer. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, learning new skills, and being part of a team. You do not need previous electric motor repair experience. We will provide hands-on training in the foundational areas of our repair process, including stripping parts, steam cleaning, preparing equipment for repair, and maintaining a safe and organized work area. This position is designed to be the first step toward a skilled career. As you gain experience and demonstrate your abilities, the goal is to train and develop you for advancement into either an Electric Motor Winder or Electric Motor Mechanic position. We are looking for someone who wants more than just a job and is interested in building a long-term career in the electric motor industry.

Requirements

  • Dependable and able to arrive on time each day
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in an industrial repair-shop environment
  • Ability to work safely around machinery, tools, cleaning equipment, grease, dirt, and heat
  • Mechanically inclined or interested in learning a skilled trade
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to stand and walk for most of the workday
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely work around motors, machinery, cleaning chemicals, steam-cleaning equipment, and industrial tools
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, and safety-toe footwear

Nice To Haves

  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, automotive, maintenance, construction, or mechanical experience is helpful but not required

Responsibilities

  • Strip electric motors and related equipment in preparation for inspection and repair
  • Steam clean motors, parts, and components
  • Clean, organize, and prepare parts for the next stage of the repair process
  • Assist mechanics, winders, and other Repair Center employees as needed
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, cleaning equipment, and material-handling equipment
  • Move motors, parts, and materials throughout the shop
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment
  • Learn how electric motors are constructed, inspected, repaired, and rebuilt
  • Participate in training and development opportunities for future advancement
