About The Position

The Repair Center Engineer for Leica Biosystems is responsible for performing maintenance, modification, repair and harvesting on Leica Biosystems mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic and refrigeration instruments. This position reports to the Director of the Service and Repair Center, is part of the Service Organization, and will be FULLY ONSITE at our facility located in Richmond, IL. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Perform maintenance, modification, repair and spare part harvesting on Leica Biosystems mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic and refrigeration instruments. Identify root cause of instrument malfunctions and determine feasibility of repair. Test instruments to certify and harvest spare parts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, OR equivalent technical certification AND 1+ year of field service, repair or medical device manufacturing experience.
  • Proven knowledge in use of hand and power tools, and digital multimeter
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to examine, troubleshoot and solve problems

Nice To Haves

  • Refrigeration or Electro-mechanical equipment repair
  • Working with test equipment (hardware and software), testing electrical and mechanical products.
  • EPA certification Type I 608.
