About The Position

The TCAL Repair & Calibration Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, testing, and documenting temperature calibration products and systems serviced through Fluke Park Laboratories (FPL). This position performs accredited and traceable calibrations, diagnoses product failures, completes repairs to restore instruments to specification, and ensures compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 quality requirements. The technician works closely with metrologists, calibration technicians, customer service representatives, engineers, and laboratory leadership to achieve customer satisfaction, quality objectives, turnaround-time goals, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Ability to interpret technical procedures, specifications, schematics, and service documentation.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business software systems.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to safely lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work independently while maintaining high levels of accuracy and productivity.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical Technology, Metrology, or related field.
Military PMEL or TMDE training.
Experience working in a calibration, metrology, or service laboratory environment.
Experience troubleshooting electronic instrumentation.
Experience with: Temperature calibration equipment, Dry wells, Calibration baths, Temperature controllers, Precision thermometry systems, Environmental calibration products.
Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory requirements.
Familiarity with Oracle or similar service-management systems.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Understanding of basic metrology principles.
Ability to analyze test data and identify abnormal conditions.
Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple assignments.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively across service, calibration, engineering, and customer support functions.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair temperature calibration products to the component, assembly, and system level.
Utilize service manuals, schematics, procedures, and technical documentation to identify and resolve equipment failures.
Perform functional testing and verification of repaired instruments to ensure proper operation.
Identify root causes of failures and escalate unusual product or quality concerns as appropriate.
Verify operation of accessories, software, and support equipment used in repair activities.
Perform calibration of temperature and environmental calibration products in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.
Execute accredited and traceable calibrations while maintaining data integrity and technical validity.
Generate, review, and finalize calibration data and associated certificates.
Apply proper measurement techniques, uncertainty considerations, and quality requirements.
Maintain competency on approved calibration procedures and equipment categories.
Accurately document repair findings, calibration results, labor, materials, and service activities.
Maintain service records and status updates in Oracle and other business systems.
Review customer requirements, service travelers, purchase orders, and Oracle notes to ensure service requirements are met.
Track parts usage and inventory transactions in accordance with company procedures.
Complete all documentation supporting customer, quality, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
Adhere to ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and Fluke quality system procedures.
Support laboratory audits, corrective actions, proficiency activities, and continuous improvement efforts.
Ensure compliance with safety requirements and laboratory operating procedures.
Maintain accuracy, traceability, and integrity of calibration and repair records.
Participate in Fluke Business System (FBS) activities including: Daily Management, Visual Management, Kaizen Events, Problem Solving, Standard Work Development, Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, throughput, and customer satisfaction.
