About The Position

The Repair and Overhaul Operations Senior Manager provides senior leadership within the Product Support Service Center, with a strong focus on customer-facing engagement. This role ensures aircraft maintenance is delivered safely, on schedule, and in alignment with customer expectations, FAA requirements, and business objectives. The position's purpose is to provide management and direction for assigned Product Support Service Center areas to ensure that aircraft maintenance is accomplished within customer requirements, FAA requirements, and company established time frames and cost/margin requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation maintenance or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8 years of aircraft maintenance experience, including in-service work on large or mid-size cabin aircraft.
  • 6 years of supervisory experience in aviation maintenance or manufacturing (alternative combinations considered).
  • Strong customer engagement, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Mechanical or aviation background with project management experience.
  • Ability to successfully manage profit/loss responsibilities.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership ability and possess strong communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Airframe and Powerplant or pilot’s license preferred.
  • An A&P license and four (4) years of related aircraft experience may offset the Bachelors degree.
  • 4 years of in-service maintenance experience on large or mid-size cabin aircraft.
  • 4 years of supervisor experience with a Masters to offset 2 years of supervisor experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead repair and overhaul operations to meet customer commitments, regulatory standards, and cost targets.
  • Serve as a key customer interface, engaging directly with customer representatives to communicate progress, resolve issues, and build long-term relationships.
  • Partner with Scheduling and internal teams to deliver competitive downtimes and efficient labor utilization.
  • Direct hangar operations, drive labor efficiency, and ensure on-time aircraft delivery.
  • Own profit and loss responsibilities for assigned operations.
  • Lead, develop, and evaluate leaders and teams while reinforcing safety and compliance.
  • Champion continuous improvement, including Lean Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Coordinate customer scheduling with PS scheduling group to ensure competitive downtimes within the Service Center capacity.
  • Manage labor hours to meet Service Center revenue and cost budgets.
  • Coordinate hangar operations to achieve labor efficiency objectives and accommodate customer schedules.
  • Instruct subordinates in the efficient and effective use of company resources, work methods and procedures in order to meet aircraft schedules and deadlines.
  • Maintain compliance with Gulfstream Repair Station and FAA Airworthiness Standards.
  • Meet with customer representatives to discuss progress of work and problems.
  • Administer corporate and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Appraise performance of subordinates and submit them to next level of management for review.
  • Supervise a continuous safety program in hangar area, which includes operation of support equipment, aircraft systems and general housekeeping.
  • Participate in improvement initiatives and actively support Lean Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Oversee the training of employees to ensure that employees are aware of and comply with company and government policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
