About The Position

The Repair and Overhaul Operations Manager provides day-to-day leadership across Repair and Overhaul and Fabrication operations, with a strong focus on customer experience, schedule performance, and operational excellence. This role ensures rotable components and fabricated assets are repaired, overhauled, and delivered in alignment with customer expectations, FAA requirements, and business objectives. The position purpose is to provide day to day management and direction to Repair and Overhaul/Fabrication Aircraft Service Managers, Leads and Technicians to ensure timely and cost-effective fulfillment of delivery schedules, correct processes/procedures are used to evaluate and repair and overhaul rotable aircraft components to meet customer requirements and appropriate safety and FAA/Repair station quality standard regulations. Support areas include: Avionics, Paint, Structural, Mechanical, Machining, and Assembly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation maintenance or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7 years of aerospace fabrication, machining, assembly, repair and overhaul, or material operations experience.
  • 5 years of supervisory experience, including up to 2 years of project management.
  • Structural experience with strong project management and customer engagement capability.
  • Proven ability to manage profit and loss responsibilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to interpret CMMs, engineering data, GAMPS, service bulletins, and applicable aerospace standards.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to read and interpret component maintenance manuals (CMM’s), Gulfstream engineering, Gulfstream Materials Process Specifications (GAMPS), Service Engineering disposition, customer bulletins (CB), service bulletin (SB), aircraft service change (ASC), CAA airworthiness tags, and aerospace engineering standards.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership, strong communication skills and the ability to successfully manage P&L.

Nice To Haves

  • A&P license or repairman certificate preferred.
  • An A&P license or repairman certificate and four (4) years of related aircraft experience may offset the Bachelors degree.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations for Repair and Overhaul/Fabrication teams across Avionics, Paint, Structural, Mechanical, Machining, and Assembly support areas.
  • Serve as a critical customer-facing leader, coordinating closely with Customer Support, Scheduling, and Repair Control to align expectations and turn time commitments.
  • Analyze non-airworthy components to determine repair schemes, labor requirements, materials, and skill needs.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate work across multiple shops to meet revenue, margin, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Provide customers with regular updates on component status, repairs, fabrication progress, and parts availability.
  • Ensure compliance with component maintenance manuals, FAA and Repair Station regulations, and Gulfstream quality standards.
  • Hold teams accountable to operating priorities, customer commitments, and safety expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Six Sigma, to reduce waste, man-hours, and material costs.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects through effective resource planning and staffing.
  • Support training development and ensure technical knowledge remains current across the team.
  • Analyze non airworthy aircraft components to determine repair scheme and requirement skills, labor, and materials necessary to repair the assets to a serviceable state.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of technical data/component maintenance manuals (CMM) and associated updates, supplier information and all other procedures, publications and technical knowledge pertaining to evaluating, fabricating, repairing, overhauling and servicing for rotable parts, assemblies and installations.
  • Communicate to continually hold employees accountable for executing Operating Priorities and customer expectations.
  • Participate in improvement initiatives and actively support Lean Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Help develop new methods and procedures and implement corrective action plans to ensure delivery of aircraft components and fabrications; reduce man-hours, material costs; identify and eliminate waste – communicate effective changes within R&O network.
  • Work with appropriate personnel to provide customers with daily information on component schedule, repairs, fabrication, parts, etc.
  • Ensure timely completion and coordination of component maintenance & fabrication projects in compliance with current regulations.
  • Help develop and monitor area training requirements.
  • Supervise a continuous safety program in the repair and overhaul shops, which includes operation of support equipment, test equipment, and systems.
  • Train and ensure all assigned employees comply with company and government regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
