About The Position

The Rental Technician troubleshoots, diagnoses, repairs, and performs scheduled preventive maintenance and service on rental equipment ranging from small hand tools to large equipment. The role also assists with repair cost estimates, maintains shop cleanliness, and helps customers load and unload rental equipment. Work is performed both inside and outside the building during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, with some Saturday work and early or late hours as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license; driving record must meet company insurance standards and is reviewed annually.
• Ability to stand for eight hours a day.
• Ability to use hands for repetitive fine manipulation, grasping, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to use feet frequently in repetitive movement.
• Ability to work at heights using a ladder or man lifts.
• Ability to work both inside and outside the building.
• Ability to operate the listed hand tools, power tools, air tools, vehicles, and equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a formal mechanic program.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems through visual inspection and with testing and diagnostic equipment, from small hand tools to large equipment.
• Repair equipment ranging from small hand tools to large equipment.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates for repairs.
• Perform required preventive maintenance and services according to the maintenance schedule.
• Maintain shop cleanliness.
• Assist customers with loading and unloading rental equipment.
