Rental Shops Manager - INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY
About The Position
This is a Seasonal Benefitted Leadership position. The Rental Shops Manager is responsible for providing great experiences for all guests renting skis and snowboard equipment at Loveland Basin and Loveland Valley. This role is responsible for all Rental Shop operations including scheduling/coverage, guest experience, employee experience, coordination with Ski & Ride School, and rental inventory process. The manager will execute on Rental department and broader organizational goals. Every employee is responsible for providing a positive experience for our guests and employees, with safety and fun as our top priorities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Previous rental shop experience; minimum of 5 years
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience, preferably in a seasonal operation
- Experience with money handling
- Must pass binding certification at Loveland
- Experience working with the public and internal customers
- Possession of (or ability to obtain) a valid Colorado Driver's License, with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong communication and time management skills with independent decision-making ability
- Ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and respectfully
- Ability to manage competing priorities, scheduling and motivating a team to accomplish all priorities
- Ability to handle fast paced, potentially high-pressure work environment
- Basic to intermediate Microsoft knowledge; sales point software.
- Ability to work at high altitude, mostly indoors and able to travel between areas to manage all Rental operations
- Ability to communicate clearly in English - speak and understand verbal and written communications.
- Ability to lift/carry, push/pull up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays during the Winter Season.
Responsibilities
- Hiring and managing a team of Rental Shop employees including leadership and line-level positions.
- Developing and providing appropriate training for Rental Shop employees to start the winter season and throughout the season.
- Building and maintaining a strong customer and employee focused culture.
- Responding to, de-escalating, and resolving elevated guest situations, as needed.
- Providing guidance and managing the performance of all Rental Shop employees, including performance feedback, recognition, redirection, and discipline, as needed.
- Managing the financial performance of the department.
- Ordering, tracking, and inventory of all rental equipment.
- Structuring and coordinating special group and employee rental programs.
- Developing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining department safety programs including job hazard assessments, training, documentation, etc.
- Updating of internal policies/procedures.
- Providing positive leadership at Loveland beyond the Rentals department.
