The primary function of this position is to perform advanced mechanical repairs and assembly on compact construction, aerial and allied equipment by troubleshooting and using various diagnostic equipment. This role involves using manuals, repair manuals, and parts diagrams for independent troubleshooting and repair. The technician will use various tools and equipment, including lift trucks, overhead cranes, hand and power tools, and diagnostic equipment, to disassemble, repair, and reassemble parts and equipment. Responsibilities include performing inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairing engines, power trains, hydraulic, and electrical components. The role also requires using computers for referencing parts, obtaining information, and data entry, as well as reprogramming equipment controllers. The technician must be able to effectively write repair activities on customer work orders and possess cognitive reasoning and problem-solving skills.
