About The Position

The Part-Time Rental Representative works at Penske’s South Bend, Indiana location and supports sales, administration, service, and operations. This entry-level position is generally planned for 15–25 hours per week. The representative participates in the rental sales process, develops and maintains customer relationships, manages fleet availability, coordinates customer accounts, and works to ensure customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment. Other projects and tasks may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to make independent decisions and work well in a team environment.
Customer service skills, organizational skills, and a positive attitude.
Proficiency with a computer, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Valid driver’s license and ability and willingness to drive Penske vehicles, including a 26-foot box truck.
Regular, predictable, full attendance.
Maintain a current driver qualification file as required for the role, including an annual motor vehicle records check, a successfully completed DOT physical, and safety performance history records requests from prior employers in the last three years.
For CDL holders, complete DOT drug screening within 30 days of start and be subject to an FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
Willingness to work the required schedule and at the required location, travel as necessary, complete Penske’s employment application accurately, and submit to a background investigation and drug screening.
Ability to remain alert and work safely in a position regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety-sensitive.
Ability to accept responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others.
Ability to read, communicate verbally and/or in writing, remember and analyze information, and understand instructions or guidelines.
Ability to stand, walk, and sit; frequently use hands to touch, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
