The Rental Equipment Technician is responsible for the loading and unloading of equipment in the yard, as well as the check in and check out of rental equipment. You must be able to communicate both written and verbally about things like customer damage, problems with yard layout and maintenance and safety concerns as examples. Demonstration to customers the safe operation of the various pieces of equipment, is a must, as customer service is your first priority. This person must be willing to adjust their break time to work around or customer needs. When not working with customers, you will be responsible for the yard and facility. You will also be required to perform minor repairs and normal maintenance on the rental equipment fleet. Any repairs requiring more skill or extended time will be performed in the service department. This is an entry-level technical position with room to advance to a full time mechanic to the right and willing applicant.
