About The Position

The Rental Applications Engineer is responsible for engaging and collaborating with the rental sales teams and customers on complex power systems rental projects throughout the dealer territory. This role also involves engaging the CAT Rental Power dealer network for the re-rental of Carter rental fleet assets that are identified as underperforming by the rental sales manager. The individual in this position will travel as needed with power systems rental sales representatives in order to assist in customer development and the closing of rental sales opportunities.

Requirements

• Minimum three years of sales and projects experience, preferably in power generation and temperature control.
• College degree in related field.
• Self-starter able to work with limited supervision.
• Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to maintain comprehensive project files and generate reports.
• Ability to adapt to changing technology and maintain a high level of product/industry knowledge.
• Strong written, verbal and presenting skills with ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel within the organization and customers.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work with competing demands.
• Excellent driving record.
• Ability to travel throughout and beyond territory.
• Frequent travel is required – overnight or out town via car or airplane.
• Ability to handle large volumes of work in a fast-paced environment.
• Regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• May occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities
