Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Agriculture Systems, and/or Process Engineering
  • Junior standing with minimum 3.0 GPA required
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • 0-2 years’ relevant experience required
  • Has basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process
  • Works within clearly defined standard operations procedures and or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines
  • Works with close supervision

Responsibilities

  • Support process engineering initiatives by troubleshooting operational challenges, analyzing data, and researching practical solutions to improve plant performance.
  • Collaborate with production operators, engineers, and maintenance personnel to identify process improvement opportunities and implement operational enhancements.
  • Assist with capital projects by supporting project planning, data collection, equipment evaluations, contractor coordination, and project execution activities.
  • Review and update process documentation, including P&IDs, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and engineering records to ensure accuracy and alignment with current operations.
  • Conduct field observations, gather process data, and evaluate equipment and system performance to support engineering recommendations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, efficiency, reliability, and operational excellence.
  • Communicate engineering findings, project updates, and recommended solutions to cross-functional teams.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and responsibilities, demonstrating increasing independence and technical capability throughout the co-op experience.
