They also focus on maximizing performance and profitability through skilled operations and maintenance and innovative asset optimization, delivering expert solutions along the entire value chain—from origination to commercial operation. This position seeks dedicated and talented individuals for roles ranging from entry-level Technician 1 to expert Technician 5 to perform maintenance, repair, and operational activities on utility-scale renewable energy assets, including wind turbines, Photovoltaic (PV) power systems, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Candidates will be placed at a level commensurate with their experience, qualifications, and successful completion of internal competency standards. A mandatory 3-4 week training and certification course will be provided at the start of employment in Albert Lea, MN, with travel, accommodation, and expenses covered. This position is onsite at the King Creek 1 and 2 sites located in Throckmorton, Texas.

Requirements

  • 0 to 1 year in renewable energy or equivalent experience (Technician 1)
  • 1 to 2 years in renewable energy or similar experience (Technician 2)
  • 2+ years of renewable energy experience (Technician 3)
  • High school diploma or equivalent education (All Technician levels)
  • Basic computer skills; ability to follow instructions (Technician 1)
  • Knowledge of schematics, multi-meters, and electrical/mechanical components (Technician 2)
  • Deep competency in generation theory, arc flash standards, NEC, and diagnostics (Technician 3)
  • Ability to complete all required training upon hire (Technician 1)
  • Must meet Qualified Electrical Worker standards (Technician 2)
  • Qualified Electrical Worker standards + system software & industry competency (Technician 3)
  • Must possess a valid driver's license (All Technician levels)
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and structures to heights of over 300 feet (91 meters) and work at those heights and in confined spaces
  • Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain) and in an electrical-mechanical environment with high voltage/stored energy
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 35 pounds and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Maximum employee weight must not exceed 285 lbs (for Wind only, due to weight restrictions for fall-arrest equipment)

Responsibilities

  • Assisting experienced techs with maintenance and repairs; learning safety protocols (Technician 1)
  • Works under direct supervision and specific direction (Technician 1)
  • Independent preventative maintenance; routine troubleshooting and minor upgrades (Technician 2)
  • High independence on PMs; participates in the 24-hour "On Call" rotation (Technician 2)
  • Advanced troubleshooting and unsupervised corrective maintenance (Technician 3)
  • Unsupervised execution of all corrective/preventative maintenance; trains and oversees Tech 1 & 2 (Technician 3)
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, and lead site safety assessments
  • Maintain company property and equipment safely and responsibly
  • Accurately complete all administrative work, including daily maintenance logs, work orders, time tracking, and warranty/inventory documentation
  • Attend all required safety and technical training
  • Maintain the highest level of system integrity and support site budget control by seeking efficiencies
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for system monitoring and fault identification (Technician levels 2-5)
  • Be fiscally responsible on the company's behalf
