About The Position

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking a Renewable Energy - Senior Advisory Consultant to join their team. This role involves supporting the development of regional energy market reports and acting as an external customer-facing consultant for Hitachi Energy’s Solution sets. The consultant will enhance the company's strategic consulting capabilities within the renewable developer community by providing best practice advice, establishing senior-level client contacts, and working with end-users at a strategic level. The position will also provide insights to product managers for software tool improvements and roadmaps, lead complex consulting projects, and model various energy resources. Key responsibilities include developing price forecasts for North American power markets and analyzing regional power market trends.

Requirements

• Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in engineering, business, mathematics, or a related field
• 3 years of experience modeling North American power markets including macro-economic factors influencing those markets
• 3 years of experience in consulting, including implementing energy solutions
• 3 years of experience identifying and managing project issues and risks, including mitigation strategies and plans
• 3 years of experience working in power production simulation and developing energy, capacity, ancillary services, and Renewable Energy Credit (REC) price forecasts for the North American electricity markets

Responsibilities

• Supporting the development of regional energy market reports
• Acting as an external customer-facing consultant working with one or more Hitachi Energy’s Solution sets
• Enhancing Hitachi Energy’s strategic consulting capabilities within the renewable developer community with best practice consulting advice
• Establishing client contacts at a senior level and working with end-users at a strategic level and coaching them
• Providing insight to Hitachi Energy product managers for software tool improvements and roadmaps for client use in best practices and valuable reports
• Leading consulting projects of high complexity
• Modeling renewable, energy storage, hybrid and/or co-located resources, electric vehicles, demand response, and distributed energy resources
• Developing energy, capacity, ancillary services and Renewable Energy Credit (REC) price forecasts for the North American power markets
• Analyzing and presenting a coherent narrative around regional power market trends
