About The Position

Mangone Law Firm is seeking a motivated, passionate, and hard-working Removal Immigration Staff Attorney with a strong foundation in criminal defense or high-stakes litigation. The firm, an Inc. 5000 Honoree, is dedicated to helping new Americans obtain legal status in the U.S. and represents immigrants nationwide. This role offers an opportunity to pivot courtroom expertise toward Removal Immigration proceedings, defending the future of families fighting for their place in the United States. The firm provides training in immigration law, and the attorney will bring their litigation skills and passion for justice. The position is based in Morris Plains, New Jersey.

Requirements

Must be a licensed attorney and a member of the New Jersey Bar.
1–3 years of experience, ideally in criminal defense or high-stakes litigation.
Proficiency in both English and Spanish.
A deep alignment with immigrant rights and social justice.
A proactive disposition to master immigration law, bond representation, and removal defense strategies.
Based in New Jersey with a reliable vehicle to appear in person for court and ICE presentations in NJ, NY, and PA.

Responsibilities

Transition trial skills to represent clients in Master Calendar, Bond, and Individual Hearings.
Develop innovative defense strategies, including Cancellation of Removal, Asylum, and Adjustment of Status.
Collaborate with a dedicated team of paralegals and case managers to build cases.
Participate in "Consultation Day" events to evaluate case eligibility and explain legal options.
Review immigration court packages and humanitarian visa applications (VAWA, SIJS, U, and T Visas) to ensure they meet firm and USCIS standards.
