The Remote Support Specialist role focuses on providing remote support, troubleshooting, upgrades, and investigations for Trane Digital Systems, specifically supporting the Upper Midwest Regions' Digital and Controls offerings. This role is responsible for the ongoing support of commissioning, programming, updating graphics, managing communications links, performing end-to-end testing, troubleshooting, and servicing digital agreement clients. Additionally, the specialist will document digital analytics, validate sequences of operations, and perform associated support functions. The position requires representing the company by servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by remotely identifying and resolving equipment and systems issues at client locations. This involves coordinating with team leaders and customers to understand remote service requirements, examining building layouts, forecasting issues, gathering analytics, and synchronizing with any necessary on-site work. The role also demands staying current on Trane products related to the installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining the highest safety standards and ensuring the security and accountability of company assets. The position requires a team-oriented approach, dedication to customers, and flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed, including occasional overnight stays.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent, or certificate of completion from an accredited technical school is required.
  • Typically requires at least 7 years of experience in HVAC/Controls.
  • Strong operating knowledge of Microsoft office software.
  • Working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).

Nice To Haves

  • Technical School or formal training is preferred.
  • BAS (building automation) 5-7 years experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with DDC controls system preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide remote support, troubleshooting, upgrades, and investigations of Trane Digital Systems.
  • Support the Upper Midwest Regions' Digital and Controls offerings.
  • Provide continuing support of commissioning, programming, and updating of graphics, communications link, end to end testing, troubleshooting and servicing of digital agreement clients.
  • Document digital analytics, sequence of operations validation, and associated support functions.
  • Service products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, diagnosing and remotely identifying and resolving equipment and systems related issues at the client’s locations.
  • Coordinate with team leader and customer to precisely understand requirements for all remote services and repairs by extensively examining building layouts, forecasting issues, gathering analytics and synchronizing with any required on-site work.
  • Keep current on Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.
  • Continually enforce safety to the highest standards and maintain security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.
  • Display team effort and dedication to customer by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weekends as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.
