About The Position

Prairie Band Health Services is seeking Remote Pharmacists to provide future services. This role offers flexible scheduling, great compensation, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Pharmacists will function as Independent Contractors (1099's). The work involves providing virtual pharmacist coverage seven (7) days per week, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. local time, including federal holidays. Additional duties may be assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

Must be a citizen of the United States.
Graduate of a degree program in pharmacy from an American College of Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited college or university.
Full, current, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
Recent experience (within the last three (3) years) using VistA and CPRS to process and verify outpatient prescriptions.
Minimum of twelve (12) months cumulative experience processing outpatient prescriptions in the VA during the past three (3) years.
Familiarity with VA formulary and restrictions including Prior Authorization requirements and Criteria for use of non-formulary drugs.
Ability to obtain clearance from the VISN 7 Department Veterans Affairs Medical Center Information Security Officer.

Responsibilities

Process and verify outpatient prescriptions using VistA and CPRS.
Provide virtual pharmacist coverage seven (7) days per week, Sunday through Saturday, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. (Location Specific Local Time) inclusive of federal holidays.
Review and complete pending outpatient prescriptions in VistA Outpatient Pharmacy.
Perform required clinical screening (e.g., allergies, drug-drug interactions, contraindications, dose/directions appropriateness).
Use CPRS as needed to review relevant notes/labs.
Disposition prescriptions appropriately (e.g., releasing electronically to CMOP or suspending for local mail).
Adhere to VA formulary and restrictions, including Prior Authorization requirements and Criteria for use of non-formulary drugs.
