Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience.
  • Experience using common patient billing and account systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of contact center operations, standard business practices, and account collection processes.
  • Excellent customer service skills and analytical ability.
  • Punctuality and reliability are essential.
  • Goal-oriented and task-focused.
  • Broadband internet connection (No DSL or Dial-Up).
  • Hard-wired connection required (No Wi-Fi or mobile hotspots).
  • Speed test results: 25 Mbps download, 20 Mbps upload.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, guarantors, and third parties to address inquiries involving minor, major, or complex issues.
  • Thorough and detailed documentation of patient billing information (demographics, insurance, payment information) in FACS (Flexible Automated Collection System) and hospital systems as required.
  • Educate patients, guarantors, and third parties on billing processes, unpaid balances, insurance adjustments, claim denials, and other related inquiries.
  • Ability to provide account resolution by offering payment options, establishing payment agreements, or guiding financial assistance options.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information, including medical records, in compliance with HIPAA, client, and company guidelines.
  • Audit and review accounts as needed to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Skilled in typing while actively listening during calls.
  • Effectively manage time and assigned tasks.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
