About The Position

Join Elitek’s growing remote diagnostics team and play a key role in helping repair facilities across the country get vehicles safely back on the road. As a Remote Diagnostic Technician, you’ll perform advanced vehicle diagnostics, programming, and calibrations — providing clear repair recommendations to our partners. This role is primarily performed in a call center environment where you will serve as a primary partner contact within the service process, providing diagnostic and technical subject matter expertise in a customer service-centric manner. You will aim for first call final resolution for vehicle scans, escalating when needed, but always assisting the customer to complete the process and move the vehicle through their repair sequence. You will also educate partners/customers on the importance of diagnostic scans and assist other remote technicians with required diagnostic tests and technical evaluations. Adherence to all company policies, procedures, safety, and environmental rules is expected. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in the automotive industry at an entry-level position.
  • Technical or Vocational school graduate and/or OEM training.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc.
  • Ability to create, maintain and incorporate functions into Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint presentations to support business objectives.
  • Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills.
  • May train others in functional areas, interact with others and make presentations to department or middle management.
  • Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
  • Decisions generally affect one’s job or assigned functional area.
  • Results are defined; sets personal own goals and determines how to achieve results with few or no guidelines to follow; supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction.
  • Handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously with moderate complexity.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Understanding of the automotive industry and various manufacturer acronyms and lingo.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve complex vehicle issues remotely.
  • Perform programming and calibrations on a wide range of makes and models.
  • Collaborate with Elitek partners to deliver fast, accurate solutions.
  • Manage time and resources effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Serve as a primary partner contact as needed within the service process.

  • Assist Remote technicians with required diagnostic tests and in performing technical evaluations.
