The Remote Broadcast Engineer is responsible for the essential setup and testing of broadcast equipment in the field. The Engineer deploys, troubleshoots and ensures systems are operational prior to broadcast. This role oversees and manages all aspects surrounding the set-up, testing and successful operation of the broadcast-transmission equipment necessary to facilitate the broadcast of live and pre-recorded events from remote locations. The Engineer also oversees the routing and testing of transmission paths between track and production facility, ensuring paths are operational and configured appropriately. Additionally, the role manages the maintenance of remote broadcasting equipment, uses expertise to perform in-depth troubleshooting and on-the-spot repairs, and manages interactions with vendors when external repair services are necessary. The Engineer manages intercom and router configurations and implements changes as needed, deploys and tests Tally GPI closures, manages, configures & troubleshoots DANTE audio network and DANTE devices, and manages backup records of ASI signals. Collaboration with broadcast partners and vendors to obtain and distribute audio/video and data feeds is also a key responsibility, along with developing and continually reviewing and updating processes to maximize efficiency for all stakeholders.
