About The Position

The Los Angeles Clippers and Intuit Dome are actively seeking a creative, passionate and experienced Broadcast Engineer to support our new home, Intuit Dome. The Broadcast Engineer will support all live productions by maintaining and coordinating all IP based broadcast and audio equipment as well as implementing necessary processes and practices to maximize the daily operations of the arena. The ideal candidate will bring deep subject matter knowledge of broadcast engineering practices and a desire to learn and mentor others along the way. This unique role provides a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of bringing Intuit Dome to life. The scope of this position encompasses a 24 hour, 7 day a week operation with the transition of numerous daily events. Due to the nature of this industry, the candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule including weeknights, weekends, and holidays to cover high profile concerts and NBA games.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of broadcast (and streaming) experience.
  • Strong knowledge of video and audio signal flows, workflows, protocols and codecs.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and workflow documentation.
  • Experience in both hardware and software systems.
  • Passion for figuring broadcast systems, infrastructure and workflows out. You thrive in live events where every second matters and are a firm believer in collaboration.
  • Excellent communicator, ability to build relationships with vendors and recognizing the impact of this role across all business functions.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and within a team with a high sense of urgency.
  • Exceptional project & time management skills.
  • Strong leadership skills, exceptional collaboration skills and high ability to influence.
  • Strong and effective communication including verbal and written.
  • Ability to anticipate issues and resolve them based on sound engineering judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, maintain and supervise usage of all A/V switching equipment, processing and monitor equipment, 4k HD cameras, Fiber and copper encoding, decoding and streaming equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and/or troubleshooting on a large variety of systems.
  • Train and mentor production control room game day staff on proper operations.
  • Keeps software versions up to date, ensures license compliance and follows corporate directives for IT security.
  • Maintain engineering documentation and create user SOP’s.
  • Respond to trouble calls with broadcast and or computer equipment.
  • Due to the nature of this industry, the candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weeknights, select weekends, and holidays.
