About The Position
Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., makers of Yellawood brand Pressure Treated Pine, is seeking a Reman laborer. This position will be responsible for building material from a list prepared by the plant manager to be shipped and affixing labels to packs of lumber. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and a full benefits package.
Requirements
- No prior experience or training.
- High School diploma preferred.
Responsibilities
- Observes all safety requirements, including Personal Protective Equipment.
- Stacks lumber or other wood products.
- Keeps reman area clean at all times, including staples, cross-outs, and any other damaged material.
- Load and unload lumber and timber from conveyors
- Measure and indicate cutting lines on lumber, timber, and finished goods.
- Maintain accurate record of job operations as well as up-to-date inventory.
- Ensure proper disposal of waste materials on completion of job operations.
- Sort and arrange lumber, timbers, and finished goods according to sizes and grades to allow for easy identification.
- Operate sawing equipment to make precise cuts.
- Utilize specialized equipment such as dry kilns in effectively drying lumber.
