About The Position

Calvin University invites applications for a full-time faculty member to join the Religion Department in either a lecturer or assistant professor (tenure-track) position, to teach courses in biblical studies, beginning in August 2027 (pending administrative approval). As part of the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, the Department of Religion offers courses in Biblical Studies, Christian Theology, and World Religions, along with cognate subjects. Faculty teach courses fulfilling Calvin University’s general education requirements, for which most students take two Religion courses, and courses for department programs: Religion Major and Religion Minor. Ph.D. in biblical studies at the time of hire
