About The Position
Saint Leo University is seeking qualified candidates for its adjunct availability pool in theology and religion in the Saint Leo, Florida area. This pool is for candidates with graduate-level backgrounds in specific areas such as world religions, comparative theology, Hebrew scriptures, New Testament, Catholic theology, philosophy, moral theology, and religious ethics. Qualified applicants, transcripts, and materials will be reviewed for potential assignment based on student enrollment needs for upcoming terms. Select adjuncts will be contracted term-by-term based on course/section needs and availability. Saint Leo University reserves the right to cancel courses based on enrollment. Applications are processed upon receipt of all official transcripts while the posting is active.

- Teaching Philosophy - (500 words or less), highlight how your teaching philosophy and practices fit the Mission and Values of Saint Leo University.

- Official transcripts are required for all adjuncts. - Graduate-level backgrounds in World religions and/or comparative theology (for REL 223: Religions of the World course)
- Graduate-level backgrounds in Hebrew scriptures and/or New Testament (for REL 115: Introduction to Scripture)
- Graduate-level backgrounds in Catholic theology and/or philosophy (for REL 125: Faith and Reason)
- Graduate-level backgrounds in Moral theology and/or religious ethics (for REL 215: Religious Ethics of War and Peace)
- Instructors will be considered for needs that arise in our master’s or doctoral programs in theology.
- Those hired will be considered for graduate teaching and graduate course development as needed.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses as contracted.
- Provide all necessary information and teach materials as provided on the course syllabus.
- Submit final grades within three (3) days after the end of the term.
- Deliver in a professional manner course content for any assigned course(s) as specified by the master syllabus and/or as directed by the appropriate academic school dean, director, or chair.
- Meet all scheduled synchronous class meetings for the assigned period.
- Be available to students in online office hours.
- Cooperate in the dissemination of information to students.
- Abide by and uphold University policies and core values.
- Carry out instructor duties and responsibilities as provided on the website.
