Petco Veterinary Services offers relief veterinarians shifts in two settings: Vetco Vaccination Clinics and Vetco Total Care full-service veterinary hospitals. Flexible online scheduling lets veterinarians choose shifts that fit their lifestyle, with no minimum or maximum number of shifts required and weekday and weekend hours available. Veterinarians set their own rate for each shift, may continue practice activities outside Petco shifts, and pay no agency fees. An appointment-based model helps manage patient flow and support on-time departures, while trained staff handles operations so veterinarians can focus on patient care. Vetco Vaccination Clinics provide basic wellness checks, vaccinations, heartworm testing, and microchip placement; they do not provide surgery, emergency, or illness care. These clinics are primarily located within Petco stores, with some operating in mobile van units. Vetco Total Care hospitals provide preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures. Hospital equipment includes digital dental X-rays, Butterfly IQ+ Vet ultrasound imaging, and surgery suites with heated hydraulic tables and full anesthesia monitoring. Hospital relief shifts do not involve overnight or emergency on-call work. Petco Veterinary Services provides clinic news, policy updates, and product announcements through a monthly newsletter. Relief veterinarians receive a 15% discount on Petco products and services. The clinics and hospitals provide veterinary care in 48 states.
