About The Position
VCA Cherry Bend Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced, compassionate Relief Veterinarian in Traverse City, Michigan. The role offers flexible relief work, with scheduling based on the veterinarian’s availability and the hospital’s needs. Shifts may be occasional or provide ongoing relief coverage. The work is primarily outpatient appointments and routine veterinary care, performed alongside a supportive, dedicated veterinary team. The veterinarian is expected to use sound medical judgment, empathy, confidence, and humility to provide exceptional patient care and build trusting client relationships.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Provide preventive, diagnostic, and medical care for companion animals.
- Perform physical examinations, diagnose medical conditions, and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients about their pets’ health and treatment options.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service team members to ensure excellent patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and follow established medical protocols.
