Vetco, a division of Petco, is seeking independent veterinary contractors to provide relief veterinarian services. Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine state license in good standing.
• Appropriate state-specific licensing to perform all shift functions, including the ability to perform blood draws and administer vaccines.
• Ability to provide Professional Liability Insurance + license defense policy.
• Compliance with all local, state, and federal mandates.
• DEA in good standing preferred for full-service Vetco Total Care hospital relief shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide wellness examinations, preventive vaccinations, and medications.
• Perform heartworm testing and microchip insertion.
• Conduct diagnostic workups.
• Perform outpatient surgeries and dental procedures (at Total Care Hospitals).
• Partner with the area medical director to review case comfort levels (at Total Care Hospitals).
• Deliver the best care and patient experience possible.
