About The Position
Walnut Street Center is a not-for-profit human service agency that empowers adults with Intellectual Disabilities to live engaged and meaningful lives. WSC provides this by offering quality, outcome-based services which meet evolving stakeholder's needs and bring together caring, engaged, and informed family members, friends, community partners, and employees to support these individuals. WSC is actively seeking Relief/Per Diem Residential Counselors to help empower adults with intellectual disabilities to make more meaningful life choices by working directly with those individuals in one of our many programs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive
- Ability to pass a driving and background check
- COVID-19 Vaccine Card
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to complete training both online and in-person
Nice To Haves
- Previous human services or long-term care experience is strongly preferred
- CNA/HHA experience preferred
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
Responsibilities
- Ensure community engagement
- Assist with ensuring a livable environment
- Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of each individual's goals
- Provide therapeutic support and assist in Behavior Support Plans, if appropriate
- Transport individuals
- Medication Administration
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living such as feeding, dressing, toileting, and other aspects of personal care, and nutritional needs
