About The Position

A relief worker for pharmacists in Minot and Bismarck pharmacies for time off and additional educational opportunities for resident teaching. This position will assist in conducting Pharmacy outcomes- benefits to pts by providing improved adherence & disease management, Safety & Reconciliation and Financial savings and valued based arrangements for insurances while increase profits for the pharmacy.

Requirements

  • Registered Pharmacist
  • North Dakota Board of Pharmacy license
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong team building skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Possess good customer service skills.
  • Maintain clear lines of communication.
  • Knowledge of clinical processes.

Responsibilities

  • Verify profile and billing information.
  • Verify authenticity of prescription, check for correct drug, dose, and instruction.
  • Review patient history and medication profile; checking for drug-drug, drug-disease, or drug-food interactions.
  • Follow standard practices for filling and dispensing a prescription.
  • Contact physician with any questions regarding prescription.
  • Dispense medication to patients with education about use and adverse effects.
  • Monitor patient compliance.
  • Answer patient questions, current and future, regarding medications.
  • Review patient medical records when indicated to assist in therapeutic monitoring.
  • Respect patient confidentiality issues and be courteous to patients and staff.
  • Provide drug information to faculty physicians, residents, medical students, and medical support staff.
  • Offer research or referral of questions which cannot be fully explored immediately.
  • Pursue unclear issues or discrepancies with practitioners regarding patient medication orders such as product selection, dosing, duration of therapy, concerns relating to other therapy or patient contraindications.
  • Make recommendations to practitioners based on knowledge of the patient and other circumstances that may affect the patient’s compliance or therapeutic outcomes.
  • Contact practitioners regarding formulary issues or cost issues as appropriate.
  • Supply program physicians and medical staff with patient medication records from the pharmacy as needed or requested.
  • Instruct practitioners regarding requirements of drug orders as mandated by law.
  • Education practitioners regarding guidelines for ordering and dispensing controlled substances.
  • Maintain clear lines of communication.
  • Exhibit good customer service skills.
  • Acquire necessary continuing education credits to maintain ND Board of Pharmacy registration.
  • Maintain department cleanliness.
  • Work in safe manner that prevents injury in the workplace.
