About The Position

The Relief Pharmacist assists the Pharmacy Manager and the Staff Pharmacist in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations. This role involves ensuring an excellent patient experience, locating merchandise, and establishing strong working relationships with stakeholders. The Relief Pharmacist will accept prescriptions, ensure accurate and safe filling of prescriptions, counsel patients, and maintain proper storage of pharmaceutical products. They will operate pharmacy equipment, protect patient privacy, and ensure patients receive eligible services. This role requires adherence to OBW regulations and travel to various locations as per the Relief program coordinator's schedule. Additionally, the Relief Pharmacist will develop collaborative relationships with other healthcare providers within the store.

Requirements

  • Age - 16 or older
  • Pharmacist License
  • Ability to operate all equipment in the pharmacy (register, computer system etc.).
  • Protect and maintain patient privacy at all times and follow provincial regulations established by the regulatory body.
  • Must follow OBW regulations as per the Relief Pharmacist program.
  • Must travel to various locations and follow the schedules set by the Relief program coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Pharmacy Manager and the Staff Pharmacist in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations.
  • Ensures excellent patient experience.
  • Locates merchandise on the sales floor.
  • Establishes and develops a strong working relationship with Professional Services District Managers and other stakeholders.
  • Accepts prescriptions and/or refill requests from Customers, Doctors or Hospitals.
  • Ensures all prescriptions are filled accurately, efficiently, and safely using the established workflow models.
  • Counsels all patients on sold pharmaceutical products.
  • Ensures proper storage of pharmaceutical products.
  • Executes processes as per OBWs/SOPs.
  • Operates all equipment in the pharmacy (register, computer system etc.).
  • Protects and maintains patient privacy at all times and follows provincial regulations established by the regulatory body.
  • Ensures patients receive all eligible services they are entitled to (medication reviews, injections etc.) to meet specific patient needs.
  • Follows OBW regulations as per the Relief Pharmacist program.
  • Travels to various locations and follows the schedules set by the Relief program coordinator.
  • Develops and establishes collaborative relationships with other health care providers within the store (clinics, Vision Centre, their community etc.).
