About The Position
Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow its team of manufacturing professionals by hiring a Relief Packer for the Third Shift in Hanover, PA. This role is responsible for inspecting and packing quality products into various containers in a team atmosphere. The work schedule is Monday-Thursday from 7:40 PM to 4:30 AM.
Requirements
- Requires basic math and reading skills.
- Requires knowledge of product quality and production processes.
- Ability to stand 100% of the time.
- Moderate lifting (40lbs).
Responsibilities
- Inspects packaged items and alerts machine operator or shift supervisor of any defects.
- Inspects package weight.
- Verifies code, dates, and price.
- Examines package for proper seal.
- Reports any and all conditions that could lead to contaminated product.
- Packs product into cartons, cans and specialty containers and places them onto skids/conveyors.
- Prepares items for production (cans/labels/trays/rework items).
- Maintains an organized and sanitary work environment at all times following OSHA, FDA and Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
